What is a Loss Adjuster?

In the event of a claim, A Loss Adjuster will be appointed by your insurance company to handle that claim on their behalf. His fee is paid directly by the insurance company.

The Loss Adjuster will not help you prepare the claim, but he looks after the best interests of the insurance company, and not you, the insured.

The Loss adjuster is usually under the significant pressure to reduce the liability of the insurance company. Amongst other methods, he will make as many savings as possible through the supply of goods and the appointment of any contractors.

The majority of these 'cost cutting' decisions are beneficial to the insurance company, not necessarily the insured.
